Welcome to Bill Davis’ Thoughts!

This is where I scribble my thoughts about missionary life and experience, Bible translation, language and cross cultural experiences,  the Bible and my spiritual journey.

We’ve been missionaries in the Philippines for over 30 years. Along the way, we’ve done tribal church planting, community development and New Testament translation for an ethnic group called the Palawano. Along the way, I’ve been a consultant in areas like language learning, translation, linguistics and church planting in 15 countries.

We are in the final push before publishing the Palawano New Testament in mid-to-late 2012. I still try to blog and write in the evenings and spare weekend moments.

I’m a Christian from Southern California. A husband for 35 years, a father for 32 and a grandfather now for a year and a half. Life is good.

And please check out my other blog BillDavisWords, for posts about my writing (novel, essays), language, language learning and linguistics.
